Our active valve control system gives the driver direct control over the exhaust valves using the supplied remote-control fobs.
Select Refined Mode and the valves remain closed, providing a more civilised and restrained exhaust note. This setting is ideal for motorway journeys, residential areas, early-morning starts and everyday driving.
Press Sport Mode and the valves open, transforming the character of the OCTA. The exhaust becomes deeper, louder and considerably more aggressive, allowing the character of the 4.4 V8 to come through.
Under enthusiastic driving, the system also allows you to enjoy more of the V8's natural burbles, crackles and overrun character, particularly when using the vehicle's more performance-focused driving settings.
Unlike systems that constantly override the driver's selection, the MEDUZA valve controller is designed to give you straightforward control.
Select OPEN and the valves remain open. Select CLOSED and they remain closed.
The system remembers the selected setting even after the vehicle has been switched off and restarted, giving you a consistent exhaust setting each time you drive.
The electronic control module requires only a suitable 12V power supply, helping to avoid unnecessary integration with the vehicle's original electronic systems.
The system has been designed with straightforward installation in mind.
The valve control cables are routed through to the rear exhaust section and connected to the electronic module, with power supplied from a suitable 12V source within the vehicle.
This means the installation requires minimal interference with the Defender's original systems and can be returned to standard configuration if required.
Performance doesn't have to mean compromising the original design.
